The
Wave Collapses was an interactive comic book adventure game played in Melbourne
during the 2006 Next Wave Festival
The story
follows two friends as they explore the city, scratching the surface to reveal
the entangled physics
of urban interactions.
Starting with an incomplete
comic book laden with clues and maps, approximately 650 participants collected
stickers at Next Wave events.
Each person’s
book depended on where they went, what they found, and
how they chose to complete
the story.

At the finish line party three prizes were awarded, Jate and Aniko came equal first for their team effort of sticker hunting
(which included asking the staff of 7-11 shown on pg 16)
Dan received the prize for sticker placement, for his method
of multiple layer sticking so that all narrative options could be read

weaved through Melbourne’s youth art culture

festivals and the Commonwealth Games.
